An aging doctor finds himself gifted with a special antique door that, when fitted to his house, allows him to visit past eras of his life. Returning to when he was 27, he decides to track down answers to questions that have haunted him.
27, Memory Lane was my first feature film on a budget of £15,000 that was crowdfunded through Kickstarter and Angel Investors. It was shot over 21 days in September 2013, and post-production took place in Manchester, UK between October 2013 and April 2014. The film premiered on April 26, 2014 at the Cornerhouse Cinema in Manchester.
I served as the Producer, Writer, Director, Editor and Production Designer on the film. We received over 1000 casting applications and held auditions in association with Surviving Actors at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester in May 2013. Shooting Locations were scouted in Greater Manchester, Cheshire and the Lake District.
We cast James Clay (My Week with Marilyn), Michael Maughan, Dani Sylvia, Edwina Lea, Hazel Mrozek, Diona Doherty, Samantha Mesagno, Lucas Smith, Louise Pridding, Sophie MacWhannell, Louis Macdonald and Eileen Page (John Carter of Mars) through a mixture of live auditions and recorded tapes.
